The night before last we went into town for the annual Christmas event … the Christmas story acted out with sweet angels, colorful wise men, and a real baby in the manger!  We watched a burro carry our Mary through the streets around the zocolo after the performance, which was in front of our beautiful open air church in the center of town.  Under the palapa in the park was an elaborate … snowy!? … Nativity scene, all lit up. Then, we watched lines of children whack open pinatas and scramble for the candy and small toys that spilled out.  A great night!  And, thankfully, it was a beautiful clear night … the next morning and all through the night we had torrential rains and yes, it was cold … cold for here, anyway … sweaters, shoes …
